I pezzi del puzzle vengono assemblati lentamente e il silenzio gioca un ruolo importante nella sceneggiatura.

Sì, lo so, voi che avete ceduto alla tentazione di smettere di sognare penserete che tra fiction e realtà c'è un abisso incolmabile. Mi direte che nulla di ciò che si vede sullo schermo può essere realizzato nei laboratori "veri" o almeno non con la stessa rapidità e precisione. Magari in parte avete anche ragione, ma ciò che mi interessa sottolineare è che i personaggi che deridete sono in realtà ottimi stimoli per avvicinare noi altri, pubblico sognante, a rami e rametti di scienze delle quali ignoravamo l'esistenza. Anche voi accademici quindi, non fate i difficili e soprattutto ammettetelo: le tv-series divulgano mediamente meglio di voi; perché tutto sommato è meglio arrivare al pubblico con qualche imprecisione tecnica piuttosto che non arrivare.

Guardate per esempio Temperance "Bones" Brennan, l'antropologa forense più famosa della serial-age in cui viviamo.

Many of the realities around us are serial: series of events, components, moments. Life itself is nothing but a series of which we don't know the total number of episodes. The TV series, with their sequential episodes, they just try to imitate the serial scanning of our daily life and maybe that's why they take us and make us fall in love.  

So welcome in the age serial, welcome in SERIAL-AGE.

GIL GRISSOM, how to become.

It is really complicated to reach the level of curiosity and the powers of observation of the mythical and unbeatable Gil, but if you think that the most intriguing feature of this character is his entomological knowledge, you should know that in Italy there are places and people who could introduce you to the world of FORENSIC ENTOMOLOGY. Yes, people who study our insect friends which attack in subsequent waves dead corpses. Here are some pieces of advice on people you may contact if you have a basic biological background and you are eager to learn and to dirty your hands.

The Department of Forensic Medicine of the University of Pavia has a wonderful forensic entomology lab headed by Prof. Simonetta Lambiase.

Also at the University of Padua it is possible to study forensic entomology; if you are interested contact Prof Margherita Turchetto or Dr. Stefano Vanin.

Link Morgan (01): point of view

...più o meno...adesso!
Il corso inizia... più o meno...adesso, proprio allo scoccare dell'ora che preferite e ringraziando gli amici di WTA vi presento me stesso: mi chiamo Morgan Link e in attesa di news da Bernard, sarò il vostro supplente.
Apparirà chiaro in seguito che questo ormai iniziato corso, non è affatto un corso, quanto piuttosto un cammino, un gattono o un saltello, insomma roba fatta con calma senza alcuna fretta. Il mondo fa il suo corso, noi il nostro cammino.
Queste lezioni lasciano il tempo che trovano, ma ciò non è affatto grave perché evidentemente neanche lo cercavano, il tempo. Probably se lo sono trovato lì tra i piedi e hanno pensato di non disturbarlo. E i piedi? Quali dicono loro? quelli che avete sottosopra. Li avete sotto o sopra? Silenzio.
Dipende dal punto di vista. Direste sopra se foste suole.

Il fatto è che vi sembrerà fatto male se fatto con i piedi, ma non è sempre così, dipende da cos'è il fatto in questione. Per esempio se dovete classificare alcuni gruppi di animali, farlo con i piedi va benissimo, perché sono proprio i piedi una delle cose che dovete guardare per distinguere una bestia dall'altra.

WTA inaugura la rubrica RAPIDE suppLENTE, uno spazio in cui l'amico MORGAN LINK, attualmente supplente presso una secondaria di secondo grado, inserirà estratti di sue lezioni come supporto e promemoria e sostegno e comprensione (del mondo) dice lui e... e...ma perché io non ho mai incontrato un insegnante così?!?

In attesa che i baroni accademici si scollino dalle loro baronali sedute, cari amici accogliete con cortesia scortese MORGAN LINK e invidiate i fortunati studenti che possono gustarsi le sue lezioni live in classe.

CASA, che cos'è?

...e fu così che l'uomo ridusse il suo vagare in bande, si fermò...agricoltura, case, villaggi, surplus, città, rivoluzioni, smog, noi.
CASA: immobile, più chiaro di così si muore!  Sarà dalle elementari che tendono a farci associare alla casa il concetto di luogo, sedentarietà, di punto fermo. Il fatto è che la casa non è niente di tutto ciò, non sono nè i muri nè le cose che essi recintano, la casa sono le persone che abbiamo accanto, i nostri compagni di viaggio.

Niente di più sbagliato sarebbe dunque pensare che prima delle prime capanne non esistessero case, esse nascono con noi e noi nasciamo grazie a chi abbiamo vicino, sia quando facciamo il ragù in pantofole, sia quando cacciamo mammuth senza pantofole nella speranza di fare un ragù.
Il nomadismo, il cambiamento, il trasloco revisionano lo spirito perché ci offrono la possibilità di essere ciò che veramente siamo, ossia gente di passaggio. 

Il cambiamento scongiura il rischio di considerare casa, cose che in realtà non lo sono ma lo diventano per effetto dell'abitudine, dello stare fermi aspettando il fortunato (solo per i paleontologi) evento di fossilizzazione degli ani con conseguenze invasive quantomeno per la composizione del ragù in seguito a probabili detonazioni basso intestinali.

Se vi sentite abili e arruolati, il nomade non solo si muove ma vede muoversi l'orizzonte davanti a lui, perciò date una gentile pacca sulle chiappe di ciò che considerate casa verificandone istantaneamente il grado di fossilizzazione. Se nel farlo vi trovate a sculacciare il muro del garage o il tavolo del salotto, beh...forse si potrebbe rivedere qualcosa. 

Potreste iniziare con una terapia d'urto: vi piacciono tanto gli animaletti, poverini, in gabbia, ma che teneri, cuccioloni, del nuovo centro commerciale per bestie? Allora trasferitevi un anno in Africa a fare un corso per guide naturalistiche, lì sì ci sono tanti cuccioloni.
